Here we are at day 45! Officially over half way through the 75 hard challenge and finally feeling strong after a few weeks of struggle. So what are the top 3 things I’ve learnt for part 3?

I love sleep. More than anything. Give me a choice between an extra 45 minutes snooze or a training session, sleep wins hands down. Every. Time. 


And while I’ve made my peace with that decision, there are some who still argue that sweating at sunrise is better than sunset. The truth is that it doesn't really matter, as long as you pick a time where you can consistently work out each day. 

Moving and being active is the point, showing up for yourself and your goals is what gives you results. For me, I work out in the evening because of my desk job. For 8 hours a day I’m sitting in front of a sea of screens, diving in and out of social media platforms and editing content. So exercise has become a stress reliever, a breath of fresh air. Why would I change that?

Please, please, please put the cottage cheese and protein powder down. We’ve all been there. Some of us may still be there (sorrows and prayers). 


It is so tempting to follow the fitness gurus on social media, loading up our meal preps with protein and forcing them down like good little gym rats. However, as a cottage cheese dessert survivor, I am here to tell you that you can still hit your macro goals without blending half of Lidl's protein aisle. I made the switch after one particularly disastrous meal prep that involved me adding greek yogurt to bbq sauce, which led to a very sour and split bbq coated chicken. Literally made me vegetarian for a week, it was that bad. From there on, I just focused more on high-volume and low-calory, adding protein in ways I knew I’d like.

What is MAE? Stands for muscle activation exercises, which are movements that target muscle groups and preps them before your workout and enhances performance. Which basically means (to me at least) if you want to hit glutes and keep most of the pump, make sure to activate those muscles. They work by improving your brain and muscle connection, making you more aware while moving, which can improve your sets and prevent injuries. 

Stretching is more self explanatory. Its gentle movements are designed to increase flexibility, your range of motion, blood flow etc. I could go on but you get the gist. You can stretch pretty much anytime. It’s actually recommended you do it everyday no matter if you workout or not, as your muscle naturally get stiff if you’re in one position for too long, which can lead to long term problems. So by doing both muscle activation and stretching you’ll be setting yourself up for success.
